Acalanes Court Apartments provides 17 units of affordable family housing near downtown Walnut Creek. The building’s California Mission inspired details are in keeping with the older residences in the neighborhood. It occupies a challenging site left over from the construction of the I-680 freeway. An enclosed corridor protects the units from freeway and BART noise. The units open onto a protected terrace on the quiet side of the building.

The site's twenty-seven foot elevation change is used to best advantage by placing the parking area below the building. The neighboring Trinity Presbyterian Church is providing independent living services for the residents.
