True Sustainability has an environmental, social, and economic component. We bring this recognition to every one of our projects. Through research and experience, we have developed a Sustainable Building Strategy that enables us to create projects that exceed our client’s expectations on many levels. Through the careful use of space and resources we create wonderful places that enhance people’s lives. And by emphasizing environmental sensitivity throughout the life of the project, we are able to nurture an end result that our clients and everyone involved can be proud of.
Site/Context: We consider first what opportunities we have in front of us. What are the solar and environmental elements that we can take advantage of? We work with the site and its surroundings in order to minimize our impact on the land. Energy/Atmosphere: Building orientation, form, materials, daylighting, and ventilation must all come together to create a more efficient environment. The result of this is also a higher level of comfort in the building. Materials/Resources: It's important to first explore the use of natural, recycled, and cost-free resources before selecting new products. Design of the building form, size of the structure, and the building systems' efficiency all must work together. Habitat/Community: All buildings should have healthy indoor environments through the use of low-chemical, low-emitting materials, fresh air supply, daylighting, and the filtering of allergens. Our goal is to create functional, appropriate, and pleasing places that enrich people’s daily lives. |
I like an unloabored thing, that looks as inevitable as something that comes out of a frying pan just right,
like an omelet in France, for instance.
